My Last days at NIB

My whole exciting 2012 is yet not ended and its bringing to me more surprises I have ever expected.
This year MashaAllah I have been given opportunity to switch my employment from NIB to SCB.
It is indeed a great opportunity to avail, these days I am on my notice period with NIB and feeling little upset leaving organization where I worked for more than 6 years. There were few upsetting moments whereas there were some opportunities I got within NIB to flourish with my career. I still cannot forget my first dream came true because of NIB which was driving my own car, and then next dream to get apartment for my parents.

When I was switching to NIB, my entire team whom with I was working switched together it was not an individual move but of whole team, but moving to SCB is wholly solely my own step I have taken after consulting with my mentor who is always there to guide me in my career and personal life.

Its my last Ramzan and last Eid with NIB and for remembrance they have given me beautiful set of churian to celebrate eid.

I am happy as my bosses are happy too... and they are happy because I was deliverable.
I pray from Allah to guide me further in my life so that I should rise up more in respectful and in disciplined manner.

Life at work

There are some days when you really don’t want to wake up and start your day with an image of a lot of file pending at work. This makes us lethargic and lazy to stand up and go. But when its your new dress, new shoes, new bag you will start waiting since night for the fabulous morning when you really want to catch some body’s eye.

This is life and you have to deal it with daily. But you can make your life easy going at work by applying few of my strategies at work so that you should not feel like to stay away and unattractive for your duties.

Ambiance

1. You need to understand that wherever you are working it should be place where you really want to sit, for an example even if it’s a chair and a table with PC or laptop you can still make it little color ful with your up coming notes and pads placed on it.
2. If you think messy desk will represent that you are busy, well that’s not today's deal by the way, if you like to have messy desks at work, please let me alert you it is not showing your qualities and devotion for your work, in fact it shows how much un organized person you can be for your supervisor. Try to file your important papers and make sure that you keep only needed docs on table. Try to write note or things to do in  small diary and keep it with you even you go for meetings. That will keep you updated and alert for your next assignment.
3. Wear Watch, keep watch or calender at desk its important while you are heading for your next meeting, you should know how much time you have to finish pending task to move on for next. Its always better to mark important dates on calender for scheduling dates to avoid skipping any important work/ meeting/ training.
4. If you have ever visited any country, any city or you have done any adventure in your life, place the photo on wall, it will keep you charged all day long.
5. Try to take some break from work and take a round to canteen or rest room to feel fresh when you come back on your seat.

Persona

1. Your own qualities and skills will be reflected if your ambiance has been taken care well, you will feel organized and hands on for your task at work.
2. Believe in your self and keep your self updated by surfing news and economic updates on internet.
3.  Please do not logged in on social networking site while you are at work, it seems that you are not ON yet for any other work.
4. To grow in your life its important that after you finish with all task in hand take day off before owning to next assignment. It will make you feel fresh and not stressful for your next assignment.
5. Bring every idea to your boss even if it feels LS to you, might this LS idea could become a reason for your next promotion.
6. Be nice and gentle with everyone even with peon and guard, it will enhance your persona and inner satisfaction.

Next time it should not be only your new wardrobe a reason for your enthusiasm at work.

Freelance Photography

Since I have started exploring 2012 with fascination already I decided to take an another step into photography world.... I will be adding photos with their description for my readers to understand why I took that shot. I aim that I should at least by the end of this year add 100 photos.

so lets begin.....

The below photographs I took, when I was in AKU ( Aga Khan Univerity School of Nursing) (14th Jul-12), well I was attending my second day at camp where at lunch break below the serving table I saw these little little snails, they were total four, But I pictured  only one since he was little near to me and I was able to shoot him properly.

This picture I took for remembrance of my last camp I am attending with my District Team in Karachi. 
Let me tell you that AKU is the best place you must visit if you are in Karachi, when you enter you feel great sense of peace and love for Allah why? because of beauty in greenery around you, neat and clean roads. I wish the whole muddy and dusty Karachi could turn into same.

No smoking in Office Premises

Today I feel like that I have won a case against smokers at a Supreme Court, and Judge has at last with drawl the case in my favor. :)

I have started working in 2002 at SFS as credit card tel-sales officer. I remembered that first day at work was horrible as for the first time in my life, I had heard office colleagues exchanging abusive words to each other whether was there any joke, humor, or anger between them. I realized it for the first time that whatever disciplined I had learned since childhood at home was of no value amongst them and if they had to even address any speech it would first start with one filthy word and end it with another filthy word and there is no limit if any one wanna add any another nude/ filthy words between any sentence.

This was the worst side of my experience at work, however another disaster came into my green world was "Smoking". People at public place, at work do not realize that if they are hurting themselves with their own will, why they opt for same for others. When I quit my first job to give examination for my B-com, i had to search for a job where I can at least escape from this terrible punishment I had to give my self in order to earn money for family.

As far as I remembered that my second job has given me spirit to grow not only financially but morally, and professionally as well. that was my best time and life time learning time I had spent at ABN AMRO.

When I left ABN AMRO, my life's most terrible punishment I had to give my self again, it was not only a good career growth which came along but financially I became more secure, but what about my health? I had to give scarifies as now I had become part of senior management, where 9 out of 10 were smokers. Means I was only who was not smoking but became a rich passive smokers after spending my six years with them. 

I don't remember how, but it is for sure that I gain sinus problem, ear problem, skin allergies, pimples on my face, and last but not least I had to face weird smell from my hairs, and dress every day.
It was become impossible for me to bear those smelly feeling coming out of me regularly and now it was my turn to stand up and raise my voice against smoking at public and work places.

I had first approached my colleagues with respect and request not to smoke around me, as I am not a smoker and I don't wanted to be another in the list, however later I became satire for my right and without thinking of whatever they would might feel; I used to leave that place immediately as soon anyone lite the cigarette, it was not enough for my colleagues and seniors to avoid smoking, so I had to argument with them a lot yet there was zero response.

I had been moved at head office as another step in my career growth, my fear was even not resolved there. this time, again my seniors were the one who were smoking, but I did not give up and continue to fight against smoking at work place, I placed notice and spent time in educating them about injurious damages a cigarette can do inside our body.

I feel good when few of them have really quit smoking because they don't wanted to be listed out as one of the cigarette hitter list at cancer hospital but what about those who does not care about it at all, and give it a name of fate.

My next step is to educate them through notice board, where I placed few message for them. Every one visiting my department was having a look at it and favored me for banning smoking at work place.

Today when my HR Head has finally circulated email on strictly ban smoking at work premises giving me immense pleasure. One of my senior said that finally I won the case at Supreme court. and I am also feeling like same :)

I would like to thanks my senior for at lest now paying respect to that senior person at work and by obliging it.

Visit to Port Grand Karachi

 Finally I got a chance to visit Port grand last Saturday, thanks to my dear husband who took me there. It was indeed a great time with you.

In continuation to write about my wonders and challenges, visit to port grand was a part to explore something new in 2012. Port grand is located nearest to Karachi Port/ Kemari on Native Jetty Bridge. Native Jetty Bridge has been entirely rebuilt to give advance tourism spot to be explored by foreigners as well as its place where Karachites can go and be proud of. Port grand is not only famous for food street but for shopping, free WiFi, children play area, valet parking, book store, speed boating and for place to be visited with family and friends. Not only this, there are few old trees which have been preserved for tourist attraction. 

 

The entrance fees is very nominal of rupees 300/- you get 4 tokens of rupees 50 each which later on can be utilized against any eatables or to buy any available accessories; other then that, there are almost 20 food outlets/ restaurants  where you can have dine out fun.

 How to get there?

To reach to Port grand, you may take route from PIDC Bridge or come straight from boat-basin towards MT KHAN Road. If you have seen Beach Luxury Hotel or famous PNSC Building then you can easily reach there, still having problem to find out way, please check map

 

Entrance and Ambiance:

At entrance, as I have already mentioned that you have to pay rupees 300/- out of which 200/- can be reimbursed against buying eatables or any other items available on small shops, since you are not allowed to take any eatable insides, it is mandatory for us to buy and eat from there & there.

I could not believe that I was actually in Karachi, it was so clean and neat, and the entrance was beautiful. Crowd was very much supportive by not throwing any trash on ground, as well as by co-operating with the available guards.  There were few mini old time carts where you can buy some good jeweleries for your self, however I found it little expensive. There were some hanging shirts with thread work on neck and sleeves which were really nice. I didn’t buy any thing till in the end I had to actually utilized my remaining 150 rupees token, so I bought very long wood made necklace for me :)

  

 

 

 

Food Street

Port grand got famous because of Food Street, after entrance on your left side; it’s a huge long street where you have mini outlets of at least more than 20 restaurants, here you can reimbursed your token vouchers or pay additional according to the bill. Along with that there are some old time carts available, where you can get pop corns, magic corn, Gola ganda, etc

Me and my husband went to Alanto Bistro an Italian restaurant for dine in, and food was not only delicious but well presentable and well served.

I had a great time at Port grand and I would love to visit it again next time. :)

Faalsa Grewia Juice

I was having fun with my work and during lunch hour my peon came in and asked what I need today in juice for my lunch :D  since he already told me that due to Summers Faalsa are in, I asked him to bring Falsa juice but one idea just clicked my mind...and it was who really knows what we call faalsa in English? I guess very few.... so lets talk about Faalsa and knows its benefits

Grewia or Faalsa is a tiny fruit with huge beneficial power. It appears a small sweet and sour fruit but it actually boost numerous qualities and nutrition that play an awesome role in making someone feel healthy and fresh. Grewia is summer fruit that reduces sun burn affects in the body, really? Yes! It is largely used by making its juice that really tastes good and is helpful in banishing hot weather affects. Gewia also plays role in curing some fatal diseases such as liver diseases, constipation, heat rashes and Malaria. Fully ripen Grewia is reddish maroon in color and its beautiful color is really a plus point in increasing appetite. Grewia’s extracts are also supposed to be helpful in curing from Hepatitis and other such diseases.
Falsa or Phalsa is a fruit which is called Grewia in English Language.
